Andrew Erickson - Student Bio

Andrew Erickson is a 5th year architectural engineering student with a mechanical focus at the Pennsylvania State Univeristy. She will graduate in May of 2015 with her Bachelor of Architectural Engineering and plans to persue a full time position as a mechanical engineer. 

 

During the summer of 2013, Andrew interned for Armstrong World Industries in their Architectural Specialties department. He learned about the inner-working of manufacturing and selling high end building materials.

 

Andrew interned for Barton Associates in the summer of 2014 as an intern in the company's eductaion department. He learned about the MEP field and the high level of design that goes into a building's  mechanical and electrial systems. Andrew also interned for Mueller Associates during the summer of 2015 where his knowlege of the MEP field was expanded. During these two internships, Andrew gained experience with prrograms such as; Trace 700, Revit MEP, AutoCAD 2015, and using Microsoft Excel for detailed calculations.

 

Outside of education, Andrew was heavily involved in the Penn State Crew Team. He was a rower from the first day of novice practice his freshman year until his final race his senior year. He had responsibilities such as being the Webmaster and Social Media chair for all four years. He was also an officer that was partially repsonsible for the team's $150,000 annual budget and the hiring of a new coach. After his four years of rowing eligibility were over, Andrew became the Novice Coach where he now teaches new rowers the mechanics of the sport.
